If only my iPhone was an SLR

I woke up early this morning to go for a run down at Bondi Beach. When the alarm went off at 5:50 am it was a struggle to wake up but thankfully I was running with a girlfriend as I definitely could have spent another hour in bed. I'm so glad I went because I wouldn't have been able to capture my first photo below taken with my iPhone around sunrise. Exercising in the morning is a great way to start the day. Some days I wish my iPhone was an SLR, actually most days I wish it was like an SLR as I never like to miss an opportunity when it comes to taking photos especially when it can inspire you for the whole day. The next few photos are again taken on my iPhone - I thought it would be silly just to post one photo for the day. I promise my SLR photos will be coming soon.

Beachagrams

This year I am trying to make regular post on my blog, fingers crossed I keep it up! I thought while I am still trying to sort through thousands of my SLR photos for my next blog post I can post some instagram photos I have taken. I am never short of insty photos as it's a little addiction I have and I am especially never short of beach photos as I can't get enough of the beach so these are my beachagram photos. All photos are taken on my iPhone 4s and I have used multiple apps to enhance them. Beaches range from Bondi, Coogee, Maroubra in Sydney to Terrigal and Byron Bay in NSW. Then travelling to QLD – The Gold Coast, Port Douglas and Noosa.

It's a Happy Day!

Today is the first ever International Day of Happiness declared by the UN. I don't often get too personal in my blog post but this is something close to home. I think it's really important to focus on your happiness and to do what ever it takes to make that happen. Sometimes its easier said than done and having seen my family members affected by Mental Illness I know it can be challenging. I guess i'm blogging about this to have my little say and show that I am supporting all these social awareness initiatives (especially when it comes to mental health as we often ignore it, don't talk about it or are scared of anything that isn't the norm). Having studied a Masters in Advertising and PR with a minor in marketing with a particular interest in social marketing I am all for making everyone aware of doing something good, whether it's starting by doing something good for yourself and then building from there - we all have to start somewhere.

So Happy International Day of Happiness!

The photo below I took this morning, it was such an amazing sunrise looking towards Bondi Beach how could this not make you happy today!

Jaz & Boggy's Wedding Invite

I've know Jaz and Boggy for a very long time now and I like to think I can take a bit of credit for them getting together back in high school. So to be able to design their wedding invitations was a really special opportunity for me. Jaz and Boggy's wedding theme was black and white so I went with that when designing the invite, I decided to add a hint of red to represent their love for each other. Here is a little preview of the design and layout. The wedding invitation was a square folded card with an insert that had information about wedding gifts. It was printed on a rag style textured paper.

Jaz & Boggy's Save the Date Wedding Invite

So last year my good friends Jaz and Boggy finally tied the knot! After being engaged for two years or so and being together for over 10 years (since we were in high school) they finally decided the set a date and place - Bondi Icebergs on the 15th December 2012. They asked me to take the photos and design their Save the Date Wedding Invites. So we came up with something cute and quirky! It was a fun arvo taking photos with them down at North Bondi. The Save the Date Wedding invite was a double sided postcard.
