Jonas Christening

I'm a little late with my postings this year, It has been a very busy year for me as a freelance photographer and designer. Before the end of 2014 I am going to try and catch up on what I have been doing this year and next year I can start fresh with the blogging.

I'll start with the one of the most wonderful christenings I have photographed. I photographed the adorable little Jonas at the Greek Orthodox church St George in Rose Bay. The reception for his Christening was held at the Greek restaurant Alpha in the city. It was such a great day for the young family. I can't forget to mention the Dessert table that was something of the next level done by Sweet Mama Cakes. You can see below in the photos amazing detail in the planning of the theme of Travel for Jonas.

A special day in the park for Ariel's Baby Shower

As you can tell from one of my latest post we welcomed a new member to the Gray family, the first grandchild for my parents, my gorgeous Niece Alice. Before she arrived I organised a very special baby shower for my sister in law Ariel and brother Adrian. The theme was a garden party as I was hosting it at a local park, I wanted it to be a fun day for family and friends to see Adrian and Ariel before the baby arrived. The best tip I can give anyone organising anything is to delegate. I assigned everyone in the family a job and the biggest part was getting my girlfriend Elise from Melipone Cakes to organise all the desserts for me and so lucky I did as they were absolutely amazing. I also thought I would do something a bit quirky and baby themed and made a watermelon baby fruit salad, see the photos below. It was a really great day for my family, Adrian and Ariel and their friends. Here are a few photos from the day (mostly the food and Styling) and I even got in a few photos too.

The Sweet Side of Life

Last year I photographed The Sweet Side Of Life gorgeous and delicious lolly tables. Aristea Katralis from TSSL creates custom desert tables for any occasion. The Styling is simple and sweet, I absolutely love the detail that has gone into this lolly buffet and is perfect for a summer garden party. Check out her facebook or head to her website www.thesweetsideoflife.comYou can also check out more of my photos on her website. Here's to the Long Weekend

I'm already missing the Queens Birthday Long Weekend it went by so fast! To get the creative juices flowing for the weekend I designed an Andy Warhol collage to post on my instagram account. The weekend started off with a creative collaboration for My Friend Franky and Rapee Home. I shot the home of sisters Jess & Steph from My Friend Franky. Below is a behind the scenes photo that Jess  took of me shooting her home (actual photos to come soon). The rest of the weekend was full of catching up with friends and family and eating out lots. I had some great meals at Three Blue Ducks in Bronte and Bread and Circus in Alexandria.

Melipone Cakes

A few months ago Elise from Melipone Cakes asked me to photograph a Christening she was styling and baking for at the Royal Botanic Gardens Restaurant. The Botanic Gardens was an impressive if not lavish location to host a christening. Elise has an amazing gift when it comes to baking and decorating. The theme she came up with was around hot air balloons and vintage travel. She didn't want the usual aeroplanes or cars for boys, so kept those classic ideas and gave it a vintage twist with pinwheels made out of old maps and mini suitcases to hold all things sweet. For the occasion, she baked chocolate fudge cake pops, chocolate and vanilla hand painted hot air balloon cookies and salted caramel and white chocolate cupcakes. All of which I must say were some of the most mouthwatering desserts!! Even now while writing about these photos I took I can't stop but keep dreaming about having one of those cupcakes again.
